    West Valley High School has a long-standing history of involvement in karate feuds, that seemingly began during the original Karate Kid movie in 1984. Throughout the Netflix series we see the rivalry between the Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do students escalate, resulting in an all out war that lands a devastating injury to the star student Miguel Diaz. The latest season deals with the fallout of this event when the school council threatens to ban the coveted All Valley Championship.
